About Hands of Compassion International
Hands of Compassion International (HOCI) operates Christian boarding homes for underprivileged children in southeast India. Some of the children are orphans and many are from families that live in poor, rural areas. These children have little or no hope of achieving an education without our assistance.
We provide for these children in two different locations: Compassion Home in Ongole and Pearl’s Home in Santhamagalur.
HOCI children receive clothing, food, education and school books. Christian house parents help children with their studies and spiritual education. In addition, they are taught to be self-sufficient through vocational training.
Our volunteer Board of Directors in the United States oversee the program together with our on-site staff in India. Because our Board is volunteer, 100% of all donations stay within the organization and directly benefit the children.
